Drawing to a Close

They’ll head back to their clinics making wellness a priority, use more efficient means to run their practices, and implement a variety of new program that will help change lives, but before they jumped on their planes there was still a one more bit of business to take care of.
The winner of the first annual SuperCamp 2012 T-shirt winner was announced to a room of about 500 HealthSource family members: HeathSource of Aiken, who created t-shirt with a QR Code that, when scanned with a smart phone, takes prospective patients to a landing web page that advertises a 19-point screening and allows them to register for an appointment right from their phones.
Their clinic will receive a brand new 42-inch Panasonic TV for use in their office.
Another big winner was HealthSource of West Des Moines who took home a new iPad 3 for their entry in the first annual Crush It! Contest. The rules of the contest were simple: clinics submitted an explanation of a great idea they implemented in their office over the last year. More than 30 entries were submitted and those were whittled down to 10, which were then voted on by the audience Sunday by a text vote.
With more than 17% of the vote, HS of West Des Moines’ took home the prize for finding a creative way to motivate patients by asking them to submit photos representing their key value (for example, if someone wanted to get back to horseback riding they would submit a picture of them on a horse) and those photos were then pasted to the front of their patient files so it could be referenced by them, the doctors, and the team members.

Following those ceremonies and a few closing speeches, SuperCamp 2012 ended with an enormous huddle, further inspiring everyone to get back to improving the lives of their patients more effectively than they ever had before.

Red and Black Ball

Live band, fun times, and a dress code that screamed “HealthSource” all made the Red and Black Ball a thrilling way to conclude the last night of SuperCamp 2012.
Immediately following dinner and the awards banquet, women donned cocktail dresses and men red ties and black everything else to dance as the greatest hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s and today were enthusiastically performed.

Big Winners!

HealthSource Family members came away Saturday night with glass trophies and adulation from their peers following the 2012 Awards Banquet.
The winners, more than a few who shed some tears after their names were announced, were met with cheering and standing ovations as they walked onto the wood dance floor to accept their trophy and receive hugs and handshakes from CEO Dr. Chris Tomshack, as well as co-Presidents Brian Dugger and Dr. CJ Mertz.

May the best T win!

The SuperCamp 2012 T-shirts were out in full force Friday morning.
Clinics from across the country descended worked for several months creating their designs, from shirts mounted with digital clocks that counted down to SuperCamp 2012’s commencement, to shirts containing QR codes that can be scanned with smart phones, to camouflage designs, a collared polo, and one that featured a sketch of HealthSource COO Brian Dugger.
HS CEO Dr. Chris Tomshack was eyeing the competition all weekend, for it was his and his choice alone that would decide the winning design and the recipient of a brand new 42-inch Panasonic TV for their clinic. The winner will be announced Sunday.

'We Are HealthSource': The Evolution is Now

All 800 HealthSource docs and team members sat in silence, their eyes glued to two giant screens in front of them.
The images showed different moments throughout a great company’s massive growth, drawing laughter and cheers from the crowd. At the end, speakers above thundered a simple message: “We are HealthSource.”
The standing ovation that ensued announced the official beginning of SuperCamp 2012…and what a beginning it was.
Dr. Chris Tomshack, who started HealthSource Chiropractic and Progressive Rehab just six short years ago, presented what would be the vision of the ever-expanding chiropractic family going into its promising future, and another step toward its goal of 10,000 clinics.
“Healthcare in this country is broken” Dr. Tomshack said. “What we have is disease care. HealthSource is going to be the solution. We’re going to provide real Wellness Care.”
Along with an expanded role into patient wellness, Dr. Tomshack announced a new name for the company: HealthSource Chiropractic and Progressive Wellness, further solidifying HealthSource’s continued commitment toward real patient care.
“We want to see 1,000 Wellness patients in your practice every month,” he told the crowd, again drawing cheers.
This new focus on Wellness Care will include:
·      Incredible Chiropractic Care
·      Essential Supplements for Every Patient
·      Weight Loss
·      Functional Wellness
·      Nutritional Guidance
·      Orthotics
·      And much, much more…
·
For patients, this commitment to Wellness Care won’t have to begin on blind faith that their chiropractor understands their unique needs. Instead, HealthSource will be on the cutting edge of medical technology with the use of the Allostatic Load Test.
Allostatic Load is a true quantifiable measurement of the physiological wear and tear on the body that results from ongoing stress. This breakthrough test can also predict health and wellness 3 to 5 years into the future with up to 85% accuracy.
“Your office will be light years ahead of everyone else,” Dr. Tomshack said.
Dr. CJ Mertz, known throughout the world as “Coach CJ,” will be leading the charge in this complete commitment to wellness. Dr. Mertz has been the most outspoken advocate for wellness care in the chiropractic field for the past decade, which is one of the main reasons he signed on as co-president and chief innovation officer earlier this year after seeing HealthSource’s goals aligned with his.
HealthSource has also started the Corporate Wellness Initiative in response to its pledge to improve the lives of everyone in the community, Dr. Tomshack said.
In this program, led by guru Bill Bontz and his decades of experience, team members working in the brand new Wellness Call Center at corporate reach out to local businesses and community centers on behalf of all 350+ HealthSource clinics. The team members schedule appointments for the docs to provide a 20-minute lecture series at these businesses, essentially completing the most difficult part of the lecture: getting the doctor’s foot in the door.
Dr. Mertz will provide training through his new Speaker’s Academy so that the message each doctor conveys is the most effective possible.
Dr. Tomshack closed by reminding the audience that we all have a “moral obligation” to improve the lives of those around us. Borrowing a quote from former Olympic runner Steve Prefontaine, “To give anything less than you r best is to sacrifice the gift,” Dr. Tomshack said that continuing to focus solely on fixing pain instead of trying to improve the overall health of the patient goes against everything HealthSource was founded on.
“Pain relief care is sacrificing the gift,” he said.

Welcome HealthSource Family!

A mix of more than 700 voices and bass-thumping tunes filled the banquet hall on the eve of SuperCamp 2012 Thursday night.
Celebrating their arrival to Dallas at a welcome reception held in their honor, the HealthSource family partied with old friends and bonded with new ones.
The enormous Union Station Ballroom inside the Hyatt Regency Hotel could more than accommodate the swelling party, but a large stone balcony that held six tables, electric torches and seating for a few dozen drew much of the party throughout the night.
The party ended a little after 10 p.m., just in time for everyone to get back to their rooms for a good night’s rest before the most life-changing experience of their practice would begin.
